Most moms are probably looking forward to their children returning to school after the long summer vacation. Don’t get me wrong, we all love our kids like crazy but summer vacation tends to go on for a long long time and if you have kids at home, after a while they start bickering with each other and then play up and being at home becomes a never ending drama of constant noise and fighting breakouts.
So, once kids return back to school, most moms look forward to the peace and quiet of getting their lives back. It is also at this time that we start to invest time in ourselves a little once our little ones are being looked after in school. We can shower in peace, we can enjoy breakfast uninterrupted, we can read a book without needing to console, cajole, be a peace moderator or referee. It is also the time when we can start to get back into some sort of fitness routine whether we go to the gym or opt to do a workout routine at home.
I find that for me, working out in my own home means that I don’t have to drive out to the gym, I don’t have to pay to join a gym and I can do a one hour fitness workout quite easily and at my own pace. I’ve tried a few women’s fitness DVD’s and the one that seems to work best for me is Jillian Michaels. Jillian Michael’s is this fabulous looking woman with a figure to die for and as well as her exercise routines such as her 30 Day Shred DVD, she also has a cookbook out that I have yet to look go through.
I find the best time for me to do a home workout is right after I have dropped the kids off at school. I get my workout out of the way by mid-morning and then I try to meet friends for a coffee so that we can all catch up.
As busy moms, it seems this is the only time we can make to meet up and I look forward to some much needed female company at last.
