If you want to look great, you probably spend some time exercising. Whether you jog around the park or spend an hour or two at the gym, you know your hard work is going to pay off with a great body. At the same time, you don’t want to look like a sweaty mess. For many people, the morning is the ideal time for working out but if you have to be at work soon afterward, you may put off exercising altogether in favor of looking and feeling fresh and clean for work. The good news is that you can have both. By tweaking your routine slightly, you can show up for work looking put together without waking up at an ungodly hour.
There are several products that make putting on makeup go a lot faster in the morning. By using a few of these multitaskers, you can save a lot of time getting ready for work, which means more time spent on getting into shape. Pencil eyeliners are the easiest type to apply and if you have dark hair, you can get away with using the same shade to line your eyes as well as fill in your brows without bringing along extra brushes. If you use waterproof eyeliner and mascara, you may even be able to get away with doing this part of your routine before you work out as most long-wearing varieties will hold up through sweating. Liquid or cream blushes can double as a lipstick. Compact foundations come with a sponge inside which makes applying a breeze. Scented lotion is a great way to make your whole body smell clean even if you run out of time for a shower.
It’s great to have showers at your gym, but even that may not be enough to solve your problem. A shower might only take a few minutes but once you get your hair wet, then you have to dry it and style it. This can add a half hour or more to your routine. One possible solution is to wash and dry your hair the night before. Use a shower cap when you wash your body at the gym. After working out, you can use a special powder shampoo for oily hair called dry shampoo and just shake it into your hair to prevent your hair from looking sweaty. No one at work will suspect you spent your morning on the treadmill!
These tips are also great if you do your exercise after work and then you need to go shopping or meet friends for a few drinks. Keep a gym bag stocked with multi-use makeup, deodorant, scented lotion, and dry shampoo and you will be prepared for anything that happens to come up on the way home from the gym.
