TMJ syndrome is an incredibly frustrating and often very painful condition that affects the jaw area. The pain can spread from the jaw to the neck, ears, face and even back. But if you’re suffering from TMJ you don’t need me to tell you that. What you may not know about are TMJ exercises and how they can help get rid of that pain quickly and simply.
But how can they save you time and money? Basically because most people go down the road of pain relief drugs and jaw devices that are designed to position your bite in a way as to realign your jaw, this is a bad option and I’ll tell you why.
We’ll start off with the mouth guards. If you do it properly and get a TMJ mouth guard fitted by a specialist dentist, then it’s going to cost you a few hundred dollars at least. Even with this guard there is no guarantee and you may have to have some sort of surgery. A common practice is the grinding down of teeth to realign your bite and yes this is going to cost more again.
Now rather than spending your money on mouth guards, surgery and the constant supply of pain relief drugs, you may want to try TMJ exercises. These are exercises that have been specifically designed to relieve pain in the jaw joint and help your jaw to start behaving in a normal fashion. People who can benefit from these exercises are people who have any of the following symptoms:
- A clicking jaw
- Teeth Grinding During the day or night
- Pain in the jaw and ear
- TMJ headaches
- TMJ neck pain
- Jaw pain when chewing
Once your jaw is returned to its normal state, most of the symptoms will relieve themselves and you can start chewing down on steaks like you’ve always dreamed of!
So that’s how TMJ exercises can help your jaw, save you time and money. They are no magic bullet solution though and will require you to be consistent; don’t give up straight away and you’ll reap the benefits.
