What Activities Burn the Most Calories

In a hurry to lose weight? You may want to know which activities burn the most calories. That would be running a sub-five minute mile. If you weigh 140 pounds, running 4.3 minutes per mile for an hour will burn about 1460 calories. Next on the list is chopping wood at 51 blows per minute. That will burn over 1100 calories. Do you like cycling? Competitive mountain biking burns about 1000 calories per hour. Looking for something more realistic? Running up stairs burns about 950 calories per hour. Aggressive cross country skiing (5 – 8 mile per hour) will burn almost 800 calories per hour. Jumping rope or running 7 minute miles gets you about 780 calories per hour. Running 8 minute miles? That’s about 730 calories an hour.
