Bike Trainers for Winter Time Fitness

It is quickly approaching that time of year when summer sports start to become more and more difficult to pull off.  Sure it might not seem like it right now, but it will soon be dark when we get out of work and colder than we ever thought was possible.   If your favorite summertime sport is cycling then you are going to have a hard time riding through the snow that is headed our way.  This dilemna plagues cyclists every year and every year they have to turn to an  indoor bike trainer if they want to be able to continue riding through the winter months.

The bad thing about indoor bike trainers is that I think I would rather have a colonoscopy than ride on a bike trainer for hours on end, it just isn’t fun and that is even worse if you ride a trainer that is a low quality piece of junk.  So I guess what I am saying is that if you expect to enjoy your winter time riding then you need to make sure that you shop wisely and pick up a bicycle trainer that will make the exercise a little more tolerable.

One of our favorite bike trainers on the market is the Kurt Kinetic.  This is a fluid trainer and from my experience, is one of the best bike trainers on the market.  What I like about it most is the ride feel, fluid trainers do a great job of emulating real riding conditions or feel through the pedals.  This may seem like no big deal to you, but trust me, it makes a giant difference in your enjoyment level of your training time.

The other reason I prefer the Kurt Kinetic bike trainer is that it is quiet.    Bike trainers are much louder than you might think so it is important that you get one that has a noise level that you can tolerate.  This is especially important if you live in an apartment or condo.  A cheap low end mag trainer will have your neighbors frothing at the mouth they will be so angry at you, so shop wisely if you have a touchy environment.

If you are interested in purchasing an indoor bike trainer then check out the many bike trainer reviews online and see which one fits your needs.  For me, the Kurt Kinetic is a no-brainer and I would recommend it to  anyone looking for a good quality bike trainer.
